The role:
Due to our client's rapid global expansion, we are looking for an Infrastructure Operations Engineer - Security to join an exceptional team. Based in the Tokyo office, The Infrastructure Operations Engineer works within a team responsible for all activities associated with designing, deploying and maintaining the global infrastructure supporting our key services and applications.
You'll be expected to work closely with other teams within the business to ensure customer pipelines are correctly factored in to the capacity management of the platforms. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest and knowledge of security fields.

This is an office based role in Tokyo, Japan.

Key responsibilities:
Monitoring & Maintenance
Ensuring that correct alerting is configured and local work instructions are up to date
Proposing, approving and implementing long term fixes for recurring issues
Monitoring security and operational logs from a number of sources.
Reporting & Analytics
Responsible for planning, implementing and overseeing the operational system security requirements.
Running and analysis of vulnerability fix levels across the platforms.
Analysis and resolution of vendor released security bulletins, highlighting high security vulnerabilities.
Preparing, maintaining and executing test plans and scripts for storm services, with the ability to adapt to customer’s requirements.
Patching
Developing and executing platform patching methodologies and other updates as required e.g. firmware, end of life hardware and software.
Faults / Escalations
Act as an escalation point for faults, attend/lead investigation into incidents and complete follow up tasks
Propose solutions for preventative measures to mitigate recurrence of issues
Create, approve and implement solutions to faults
Software Deployment
Review of application designs and work instructions
Installation of new services and upgrades of existing services
Writing, approving and executing changes of low to medium risk levels
You:
A Bachelor's degree in STEM or a relevant subject.
Experience working within the security sector/ an understanding of security networks is desirable.
Good experience in a customer facing technical role.
Strong problem solving skills.
Good analytical skills.
High attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Good standard of written and verbal communication.
A good “team” attitude towards other departments in the business in order to make sure that communication and assistance is received in a timely and professional manner.
In order to be considered for this role you must be able to demonstrate proof of eligibility to work in Japan.
